Incubation

Transforming Ideas into Reality Through Collaboration & Support

An incubation program refers to the engagement of a team (or an individual leading up to development of a team) for the development of a business based on an idea. The idea would be presented either directly by CSC/LSC or HS Group or a 3rd party or identified through a competition or hackathon (the Event).

Teams (which can be individuals applying together or separately, or already established businesses) would apply to be included in the Event, which would span no more than a week and would ideally be 24 hours. The Event will have a certain topic with regards to a problem that needs to be solved. This problem can be referenced with a 3rd party, someone who is sponsoring the event, or it can be internally generated based on needs of the Pakistani or global economy.

A Thriving Ecosystem of Innovators

Once the Event time ends, there would be a “demo day”, where solutions developed would be presented. In many cases, actual solutions would not be made, rather only ideas will be presented. In the latter case, a pitch competition can be held for presented ideas generated.

The winning team, or a certain number of winning teams, would be selected as having been inducted in the incubation program. This program shall be launched for a fixed term, spanning either 6 months or 12 months, depending on what is a more appropriate time for the complete solution to be developed based on the idea.

In the incubation phase, the sponsoring 3rd party, CSC/LSC or HS Group, or a collaboration between them, would be the owner of the resulting IP and would engage the winning team(s) in developing the respective solution. The winning team(s) would be provided with share capital in the businesses that form because of the incubation program, depending on their contribution; however, total share given up would ideally be less than 50% so that control of the business is retained by the incubator.
